We Can Be Fearless

We can be fearless.

This going to look different for everyone. Many people experience circumstances and situations that can cause them to feel afraid. Whether it is facing the possibility of doing something you don’t feel qualified for, stepping into a role you have never filled before, or just meeting new people, there are so many times when we allow fear to take over and determine our actions.

I want to encourage you, my beautiful reader, to not let fear have control over you. It’s easier said than done, I know. But, it is possible. Our minds have a significant influence on how we feel. Sometimes, the thoughts that pop into our heads will overwhelm us and make us think that they are the truth. But just because we hear the thought does not make it true.

The Devil will speak lies to us. And we must be alert so we do not mistake his lies for Truth. When we hear something that does not line up with what God says is true, it is wise to pray for discernment. This makes me think about 2 Corinthians 10:5, which describes how we should “take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.“ (New International Version)

Take captive every thought. How? I’m still learning how, to be honest. But I have practiced this for the last several years and I’ve noticed something. We truly have control over how we react to things, whether it’s our thoughts or the situations we experience. One thing I’ve started to do when a thought that scares me or does not glorify God creeps in is to say “NO.” Say “no” to the “what-ifs” that hold you back from being courageous. Say “no” to the lies that you cannot be successful in school or at your job. Say “no” to the thoughts that say you are not precious and valuable right where you are, even as you continue to grow.

God will allow us to be in situations where all we can do is trust Him. As scary as that is, please remember that He is with you. And I believe that there is no better place to be than in His loving, powerful hands.

¡Me inspiras! Bendiciones.
